We're looking for vibrant, enthusiastic individuals who have the desire, time and passion to share our ‘Shift to Thrift’ message, to spread and embed sustainable living throughout the community, throughout the year.

When you join our team you can be part of our year-round projects and our annual festival.

  • You can help us set up and run our new Thrifty Base in Billingham.
  • You can help us set up and run this year's Festival of Thrift in Billingham this September.
  • You can develop new Thrifty Skills and learn how to share those skills with others.
  • You can meet and greet visitors to our Thrifty Base and to our Festival, and make them feel welcome.
  • You can work with our fabulous freelance artists and performers at events and workshops, both at the Festival and throughout the year.

Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive free training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further free training in Confidence Building, Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
