Available from 26 August 2023 to 27 August 2023

Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August

Redcar Town Centre

Between the Tides is a brand-new free festival of adventure and exploration, imagination and messiness for children, young people and their families.

Taking place across Redcar Town Centre, you’ll meet a cast of colourful characters such as friendly giants and petulant princesses, naughty nose thieves and proud sea captains. Watch as Redcar explodes into a fantastic spectacle where fairy tales become reality and your dreams take shape right here on our streets!

Get creative with one of our free workshops. Make a clay creature or a giant Lemon Top! Help our storytellers weave playful tales of wonder and discovery! Learn how to make a puppet laugh and a monster cry!

Volunteers like you are at the heart of everything we do. Your skills, experience and time help us achieve our wildest dreams.

What will you be doing? This dynamic and responsive role will involve working with the Between the Tides marketing team, supporting the team to engage audiences, and help tell the story of the festival. This role might involve taking photographs of performances and festival activity, creating social media posts, and speaking with performance and audience members about their experiences.

What's in it for you? You'll have fun, meet new people and be part of a team! You'll learn about event management, develop great customer service skills, discover new performers and artists and be at the heart of the Festival. You'll be helping others have a great time and make the festival a success. You'll gain confidence, learn about different career opportunities, connect with and support your community. And you'll enhance your CV.

Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further training in Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
