Festival of Thrift Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September, 9am - 5pm In its 11th glorious year, Festival of Thrift has moved to Billingham Town Centre and John Whitehead Park.

JOIN US TO SWAP YOUR CLOTHES, EAT IN THE OPEN AIR, FIX YOUR BIKE OR TOASTER AND GRAB SOME ETHICAL SHOPPING.

EXPECT THOUGHT PROVOKING PERFORMANCES ALONG WITH A SPECIAL MIX OF HANDS-ON FUN, FOOD, MUSIC, DANCE AND SONG. BEST OF ALL ITS FREE!

We want to work alongside people who share our values and our sense of fun! Why not join our festival this year as one of our Workshop Assistant Volunteers.

What will you be doing?

- We would like all our volunteers to attend a site briefing in Billingham, 6 - 7.30pm on Wednesday 20th September

  • Register Attendees.

  • Support the artists and makers with workshop preparation.

  • Support workshop attendees before and during the workshop.

  • Assist attendees to complete workshop evaluation post event.

  • An interest in all things arty, crafty and thrifty.

Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further training in Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
