Wintertide takes over Hartlepool's Historical Headland with three days of artistic programming that surprises and delights, transforming spaces and places, encouraging people to see the everyday in a different way.

Wintertide works with artists, schools and community groups to create costumes and content which engage with our Fire and Fin Parade.

Volunteers like you are at the heart of everything we do. Join us today and together we'll make Wintertide 2023 a festival to remember!

What will you be doing?

Welcoming parade participants and helping them into their designated locations. Supporting artists and performers. Assisting with the parade procession. Walking with the parade from The High Battery museum to the Central Squircle. It's mostly flat underfoot and takes about 20 minutes. Offering floating support at the Central Squircle.

What skills are we looking for?

Enthusiasm and a smile. Responsibility and reliability. A can do attitude. If you have any accessibility requirements please let us know and we will be happy to tailor the volunteering opportunity to suit you.

Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service and Health & Safety. There will be opportunities for further training in Inclusivity & Accessibility, Working with Children, Digital Capture, Content Creation and Social Media, and Sound and Technical Production. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in, the RSA's wonderful new Badge Nation Award Programme.
