What's it all about?
- Join us for a series of relaxed drop-in sessions of pattern cutting and sewing.
- Bring along a favourite piece of clothing, learn how to cut a pattern, and sew yourself another.
- Use one of our patterns to create a new favourite.
- Make alterations for style and fit.
- Repair old or pre-loved clothing.
- Learn basic sewing skills, sharpen existing skills, polish rusty skills.
- Suitable for all abilities.
- Book in on a weekly basis.
- Free for everyone.
FAQs
- We will provide pattern paper, pencils, rulers, scissors, pins, plain cream cotton for samples (trying out your patterns) and cream sewing thread for sewing your samples.
- We will provide sewing machines / an overlocker for you to use.
- You can also bring your own sewing machine if you prefer.
- You will need to provide your own fabric and matching thread for any finished garments you want to make.
- We can advise on purchasing suitable fabric and sewing thread.
- If you are new to sewing and pattern cutting, we suggest you don’t bring a wedding dress or tailored jacket to begin with – let’s walk before we run :)
