Opportunity image

Available from 25 October 2024 to 27 October 2024

Hour House has been working with residents in Guisborough and Skelton throughout 2024 to develop a three-night celebration of creativity, exploring the paths of time on the weekend the clocks go back.

Glimmering lights, playful projections, twinkling lanterns, mesmerising soundscapes and a magical portal will transform and connect Skelton and Guisborough over three enchanted evenings.

Locations:

Street Events:

Skelton High Street, TS12 2EF Grosvenor Place, Guisborough, TS14 6PD 5:30 - 8pm Friday 25th & Saturday 26th October

Finale Event:

King George V Playing Field, Guisborough, TS14 6LF 5:30 - 8pm, Sunday 27th October

Take to the streets and discover the stories of residents through a series of illuminated installations presented in public spaces and front gardens transforming the streets into outdoor galleries.

Look out for the magical portal between Skelton and Guisborough, inviting audiences at each event to play together with time.

And on the day the clocks go back, join us for a celebratory community evening featuring installations from the street events, live performance, food and fire.

What you'll be doing:

  • Guiding audiences through the event sites, ensuring they've seen all the installations and know the whereabouts of the nearest facilities.
  • Supporting and overseeing audience interaction with some of the installations, for example the portal.
  • Being onboard the shuttle buses which will transport residents between the two street events.
  • Making sure passengers are aware of bus stops as the buses pick up and drop off at nearby villages.
  • Handing out headphones for listening to the music composed for the events.
  • Helping us gather evaluation information at the events.

Why you'll love it:

  • You'll make fantastic and unique memories.
  • You'll grow your skills, confidence and experience.
  • You'll meet new people and work as part of a great team.
  • You'll be making a home for the festival in the community.
  • You'll have a great time!

You can claim back your travel expenses (within Teesside) and we will provide food or a food voucher up to £10 for each shift you work.
