Redcar Kite Festival returns to the skies above Majuba Beach. Our free family-friendly festival will welcome some of the largest and most spectacular kites in the world, celebrating Redcar’s natural environment as the wind whips off the sea and sends the kites spiralling skyward in a spectacular display of colour and movement.
Each day there will be kite flying displays by the Northern Kite Group.
There will also be free workshops in our Marquees-by-the-Sea including kite making workshops, fly your own kite, fun science and arts and crafts activities.
Volunteers like you are at the heart of everything we do. Your skills, experience and time help us achieve our wildest dreams.
What will you be doing?
You might:
- be a Festival Ambassador, communicating the programme to visitors and directing them to performances, workshops and events.
- work with zone managers to support kite-fliers and performers.
- assist artists with delivering their workshops.
- support visitors with any access needs.
- help site dress the town centre - 8am - 10am

We can pay your travel expenses, and you'll receive a meal or a meal voucher up to £10 when you volunteer for a full shift.
Once you have signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service, Health & Safety, Inclusivity & Accessibility, and Carbon Literacy. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in our wonderful new Badge Skills Awards Programme.
