Middlesbrough Mela Albert Park, Park Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3LB, Event runs: 11am – 6pm, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August 2024.

Volunteer Event Shifts - 7am - 1pm and 12pm - 7pm.

Volunteer Get in & Get out Shifts - Friday 15th 9am - 5pm, Saturday 9am - 12pm, Sunday 17th 6pm - 11pm

Middlesbrough Mela is one of the biggest and most spectacular multi-cultural festivals in the North-East and offers a fabulous mix of music, food, fashion and fun over two days. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Albert Park in the heart of Middlesbrough you can expect world class music, local talent, the market bazaar and a range of exciting activities for all the family.

What will you be doing?

  • Setting up the event space.
  • Welcoming visitors at entrances and information points.
  • Advising visitors on programme information.
  • Directing visitors to the right location.
  • Working with zone managers and operations teams.
  • Supporting stallholders.
  • Sharing photos and videos to social media.

  • Good Communication skills
  • No previous experience necessary
  • Get In & Get Out Assistants – must be physically fit to help set up the event site with furniture and décor and then help remove at end

We can pay your travel expenses within Tees Valley, and you'll receive a meal or a meal voucher up to £10 when you volunteer for a day or evening shift.

Once you've signed up to be part of Tees Valley Festivals Volunteering you will receive training in Customer Service, Health & Safety, Inclusivity & Accessibility, and Carbon Literacy. You can also get involved in some exciting creative community art and music workshops which will be running across the Tees Valley. And you can earn, and take part in our wonderful Badge Skills Award Programme.
